WITCH Returns With BETSY BITCH On Vocals

October 7, 2008

Southern California metal band WITCH has announced its first gig since 1991. Founding members Punky Peru (drums),Jim Warmon (bass),and Ronny Too (guitar),have replaced original vocalist Peter Wabitt with BITCH singer Betsy Bitch. The show is scheduled for Halloween night, Friday October 31, at Paladino's in Tarzana, California.

WITCH formed in 1983 and was a regular on the SoCal metal club circuit before breaking up in 1991. While bandmembers pursued other interests over the years, they always vowed to one day resurrect WITCH. That time came earlier in 2008 when WITCH launched a web site, released a compilation CD entitled "Damnation", and began rehearsing again over the summer. Vocalist Wabitt has retired from the music business altogether, but Punky, Jim, and Ronny made the hard decision to carry on without him. "We're not ready to retire just yet," said Peru, "We have a lot of noise left to make." New singer Betsy is a veteran of the metal scene herself, having co-founded BITCH in 1981.
